My name is Virginia. As a young military wife traveling the world I was introduced to ceramics. Making beautiful gifts for my friends was the order of the day. After returning to the US from Nigeria my husband and I settled in Brooklyn, NY. I found a studio with a private instructor who taught me various techniques of hand building, crafting, molding and other fun and funky ways to work with clay. Later I enrolled in a Fine Arts course at Kingsboro College where I continued hand-building, the pottery wheel, and other techniques. As I was learning to work with clay I noticed I wasn't very good at it. But I saw the art of ceramics as an alternative to my passion.

Many years later ceramics became my small Internet business. I founded V Ceramic Art, a unique ceramic online retail store selling one-of-a-kind and limited edition exclusive ceramic pieces. In 2013, after retiring from a recreational therapist career, I decided to delve into fabrics and sewing. Scarves became of interest because of the unique appeal and personal touch scarves provide users, much like many of my ceramic pieces. It was then when I decided to change the name of my business to Virginia's Clay & Cloth to incorporate both arts.
